Preparation Method
Air Popping
The popcorn kernels are fed into a popper. The popper consists of a big box-like structure with a large air-tumbler drum. The air drum has millions of small holes in the side walls of the drum so hot air can blow through the drum for the air-popping process to take place. As the popcorn tumbles through the drum, hot air is blown into the box encasement that houses the drum. The amount of popcorn kernels fed, the temperature of the air and the speed at which the drum turns are all adjustable and can be altered to maximize the quality of the finished product. The popcorn is then cooled and packaged in the appropriate package.
